Giving Day 2025
As 2025 draws to a close, we are reflecting on our third annual Giving Day and the amazing success you made it. On the 2nd and 3rd October 2025, our UofG community, which included supporters from more than 42 countries, united for a cause during 36 hours of events, challenges and celebrations. From an after-hours murder mystery evening in the Hunterian Museum to bake sales, craft fayres and pub quizzes in London and New York, there were lots of ways to get involved and connect with Team UofG.
This year, there was even an event for the thrill-seekers among you as we offered staff and students the chance to abseil down the James McCune Smith Learning Hub. Brave volunteers took on the challenge and raised funds for Team UofG as they descended the iconic building. The adventure wasn’t over for the highest fundraisers who won the once-in-a-lifetime experience of climbing the historic University of Glasgow tower.
Thanks to your enthusiasm, commitment and generosity, Giving Day 2025 raised an incredible £140,594 to support three priority areas: Access to Opportunity, Student Experience and Global Health. More than 470 donors like you contributed to breaking down barriers to education, enriching the student experience and furthering pioneering medical research at Glasgow.
Your support also funded over 20 sports bursaries, opening doors for students to pursue their passions and thrive during their time at UofG. Your gifts helped create transformative opportunities for students and serve as a reminder of your belief in their world-changing potential.
