Student holding a banner for giving day

Countdown to Giving Day

On 2 and 3 October, the University will host its third Giving Day – a time for our global community to come together once again and celebrate Glasgow while making a real difference.

Glasgow gives: commin up in 2025

Over the past two years, your generosity has expanded scholarship opportunities for students pursuing a Glasgow education, supported life-changing medical research, and enriched the student experience by creating more events, societies, and opportunities. Whether you helped spread the word, attended an event, took part in quizzes or giveaways, or donated, you’ve been part of making an incredible impact.

No matter where you are in the world, help us fly the flag for TeamUofG – and find out what our UofG mascots Lord Lyons and Cornelius (above right) will be getting students involved in this year!

Thanks to last year’s Giving Day, you've made it possible:

  • to throw events this summer celebrating 30 years of creative writing at Glasgow
  • to send eight medical students overseas to teach health education in Uganda
  • to help students develop a sensor detecting early signs of kidney failure
  • to support students building a competitive hydrogen-powered vehicle, starting a podcast, competing in sports, and so much more.

As the city of Glasgow marks its 850th anniversary, we’re excited to remind you of how you can be involved. This year, look out for opportunities to get involved in ... securing your ticket to a Murder Mystery evening at The Hunterian, joining the annual Giving Day Pub Quiz in London, entering online giveaways, and finding out how you can help make this year’s Giving Day the most impactful yet.
