University of the Arctic (UArctic)
The University of Glasgow is a member of the University of the Arctic (UArctic), an international network which develops knowledge to address local and global challenges of relevance to Arctic peoples and societies by providing unique educational, research, and innovation opportunities through collaboration within a powerful network of member institutions. UArctic is a decentralized organization, with offices, programs and other functions hosted at member institutions in the Circumpolar North. The network's secretariat is based in Finland.

UArctic's Thematic Networks
The Thematic Networks are a framework for development of UArctic education and research to develop solutions to meet the challenges in the Arctic. Alongside these, the UArctic Institutes are self-governing units devoted to research, monitoring and education throughout the Arctic.
Scottish Arctic Network (ScAn)
UofG is a member of the Scottish Arctic Network (ScAN), established in 2022 and built around the Scottish universities who are members of the UArctic, in partnership with the Scottish Government Nordic and Arctic Unit. It is an informal community open to anyone interested in Scotland’s relationship with the Arctic. The network exists to promote discussion, advice, points of contact and information sharing.
