Testimonial from 2021 CLMC Student Sidra Fariah
Hello, I’m Sidra Fariah, a media practitioner and researcher based in Delhi, India. I am a proud alumna of the School of Education at the University of Glasgow. I completed my Erasmus Mundus International Master's in Children’s Literature, Media and Culture in 2023. This journey was particularly significant for me, as I was the first one in my family to go abroad for higher studies. Thanks to the Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Degree Partner Country scholarship, I was able to immerse myself in the program taught by an outstanding faculty and learn from the experiences of a diverse cohort of talented classmates from around the world. During my time at the University of Glasgow, the classes were conducted in a hybrid format, combining both online and in-person sessions while adhering to COVID-19 protocols. However, these classes were more than just lectures; they sparked discussions that lingered well beyond the classroom, and the environment made it easy to grow, connect, and thrive.
Being part of the University of Glasgow community is something I'll always look back on with warmth. The friendships I formed there weren’t only based on shared deadlines and exam stress; they were built on genuine connections, shared ambitions, and a sense of belonging I hadn't quite expected. These friendships, moments, and memories have become an integral part of who I am.
