Short Description
This course provides a comprehensive foundational analysis of the contemporary global business environment, focusing on the identification, evaluation, and prediction of international market opportunities. It serves as a vital analytical cornerstone for advanced studies in international business, marketing, strategy, and management.
Core Content & Contemporary Issues: From a distinct geopolitical perspective, the curriculum examines how shifting international relations, trade policies, and fragmented regulatory landscapes redefine corporate strategy. Within this geopolitical context, students evaluate how multinational enterprises manage risk and build resilient global value chains (GVCs) while balancing profitability with social responsibility and sustainable development goals (SDGs).
Skills & Graduate Attributes: Aligning with UoG Graduate Attributes to enhance employability, students cultivate high-level research and digital literacy skills. By using industry-standard market data platforms to extract, analyse, and interpret complex global issues, students develop critical decision-making capabilities.
Learning Activities & Practice: The course bridges theory and practice through experiential, collaborative, and team-based activities, including real-world case studies and peer-learning. Utilising digital media and technology-enhanced tools (e.g., Mentimeter), the course simulates modern, geographically dispersed corporate environments, preparing graduates to operate effectively as global strategists.
