Short Description
This course will continue the anatomical study of the body through the investigation of systems not covered in Structure and Function 1. It will focus on the anatomy of the musculoskeletal system, nervous system and special senses. Students will study each system in detail including microanatomy, development and macroanatomy.

Assessment
Teamwork and participation throughout the course (20%, ILOs 1-4). This will be assessed on professionalism when undertaking cadaveric dissection related activities. This includes depth of discussion of the relevant anatomy and techniques, and awareness of and adherence to health and safety procedures.
Practical ("spot") examination (80%, ILO 2). This will consist of 20 stations, each with a single prosection specimen or image. Each prosection/image will have an A and B pin inserted into a specific structure. The questions will ask students to identify or state the function of the pinned structures. Students will have 1 minute per station.

It is the default expectation that all courses will offer opportunities for reassessment or deferred assessment. Where it is not possible to offer this in some assessment components, the grade achieved at the first attempt will be counted towards the final course grade, and any exceptions for this course are described below.

Course Aims
The course aims are to:
■ Increase student confidence in anatomical techniques including cadaveric dissection, and expected level of professional conduct around human tissue;
■ Provide the opportunity to study the anatomy of the musculoskeletal system, nervous system and special senses;
■ Develop an appreciation for the relationship between anatomical structure and physiological function.
Intended Learning Outcomes of Course
By the end of this course students will be able to:
1. Evaluate and utilise a range of techniques which can be employed in investigating human tissue;
2. Demonstrate an extensive, detailed and critical knowledge and understanding of each of the major body systems and utilise professional terminology terms to describe movement and position of body structures;
3. Collaborate effectively with peers to carry out anatomical techniques safely.
4. Demonstrate professional conduct including application of health and safety practices in working with cadaveric remains.
