Short Description

This course explores the tools, models, and techniques used to analyse national and international markets and assess opportunities for new venture creation. Students learn how to identify and evaluate business ideas, conduct market analysis, understand customer and competitive dynamics, and apply analytical frameworks to determine venture feasibility and market positioning.

Course Aims

The course aims to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to identify an opportunity based on which students will plan to establish a new business venture and the required market analysis to incorporate its potential international development and expansion.

Intended Learning Outcomes of Course

By the end of this course students will be able to:

 

1. Identify and evaluate entrepreneurial opportunities that address a specific Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), using established opportunity recognition frameworks, problem-solving approaches, and critical thinking skills. 

 

2. Conduct a comprehensive market analysis for the identified entrepreneurial opportunity, critically evaluating alternative approaches to market screening, distributor selection, and market attractiveness assessment

 

3. Collaborate in teams to develop and pitch an innovative venture idea with a strong value proposition and competitive advantage

 

4. Critically reflect on individual and team experiences in an entrepreneurial project, identify key lessons learned, and make recommendations for future entrepreneurs
