Course Aims
This course aims to provide an introduction to management issues associated with the processes of innovation and technology transfer between firms located in different countries and within multinational firms, focusing in particular on institutional and cultural factors affecting the process.
Intended Learning Outcomes of Course
By the end of this course, students should be able to:
1. Critically evaluate contemporary theories in international business, entrepreneurship, and management, and analyse the processes of innovation and technology transfer, with particular emphasis on their implementation across national boundaries.
2. Evaluate the influence of institutional and cultural factors on the effectiveness of innovation and technology transfer processes, develop evidence-based decisions grounded in sustainable development principles, and critically appraise information for informed decision-making in academic and professional contexts.
3. To identify and assess key managerial challenges associated with the implementation and coordination of innovation and technology transfer between firms in different national contexts as well as within multinational enterprises operating across borders.
4. This course also offers students the opportunity to further develop and apply skills in critical evaluation and academic discourse, building on competencies acquired earlier in the program.
