Short Description

This course explores the process of export marketing and its application to first-time exporters and small and medium-sized enterprise operating in conditions of uncertainty in the international marketplace. Students learn to problem solve by analysing real export marketing challenges and opportunities. The focus is the application of export marketing concepts and frameworks to aid business decision-making such as country selection, market development and product adaptation. The course is set in the context of key trends in the Global economy.

Course Aims

This course aims to:

 

■ Examine the continuing rapid changes in the international marketing environment with an emphasis on the implications for first-time exporters and small and medium-sized companies. 

 

■ Apply export marketing concepts and frameworks to analyse real business cases.

Intended Learning Outcomes of Course

By the end of the course students should be able to:

1. Evaluate export marketing from both a theoretical and operational/practice perspective.

 

2. Critically analyse various export and international business opportunities.

 

3. Apply exporting from the practitioner perspective of a company looking to adapt successfully to the international environment.
