Course Aims
To provide an opportunity to apply the skills, knowledge and understanding gained during the programme within a working environment.
To give students practical experience in carrying out geospatial operations in a workplace environment.
To develop skills in reflection on tasks completed, independent investigation and report writing.
To develop key graduate attributes including independent research and self-evaluation, interpersonal, team working and communications skills.
Intended Learning Outcomes of Course
By the end of this course students will be able to:
■ Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of a particular workplace and their work practices
■ Evaluate the role and strategies of the placement organisation and their position within it
■ Show an ability to work effectively as an individual and team member
■ Self-evaluate their own learning and acquired knowledge and skills gained through the placement
■ Present in written form an assessment of the work placement and produce a report to a professional standard
