Short Description
This course discusses some central issues and arguments in contemporary ethics.

Assessment
The standard assessments for this course are:
■ 2 x Essay (2500 words) - 100%

The course aims to:
■ explore the central issues and arguments in contemporary ethics
■ investigate the status of moral judgments.
Intended Learning Outcomes of Course
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
■ Identify and explain doctrines covered within the course including Moore's anti-naturalism; Moral realism; Antirealism; Sensibility theories and Constructivism
■ Critically assess these doctrines in writing using appropriate subject specific terminology
■ Compare and contrast the respective doctrines
