Come and hear the remarkable Dr David Dark speaking at Glasgow Uni next week. David, who is on the faculty of Belmont College in Nashville is an intriguing and insightful cultural commentator on the religious and political landscape of contemporary USA. He is the author of Everyday Apocalypse, The Gospel According to America, The Sacredness of Questioning Everything, Life's Too Short To Pretend You're Not Religious and We Become What We Normalise. His analyses are original, penetrating and haunting. He is a prolific contributor to Twitter/X where he combines a fearless persistence with an unfailing Southern courtesy, in a way which often unnerves those he engages (not least the MAGA religious). A fierce critic of the powers of white supremacy and 'Christian Nationalism' - his work combines theological and sociological reflection, cultural criticism and literary insight. You probably won't agree with him about everything (I don't) but you will be glad you came for the conversation. David is a regular Greenbelt Speaker and writes opinion and comment pieces for The Washington Post, Pitchfork, Paste, America, Christian Century etc. Free and no ticket required.
