Wellcome-MRC Training in Cryo-EM

We are pleased to be a partner on the Wellcome-MRC Training in Cryo-EM programme. The programme is led by the Astbury Biostructure Laboratory at University of Leeds, together with colleagues at eBIC (Diamond Light Source), Midlands Regional Cryo-EM facility (University of Leicester) and Birkbeck College, London. The programme is funded by Wellcome and MRC through to 2027 (218785/Z/19/Z).

The courses span beginner and intermediate levels and have a flexible curriculum. Previous editions have covered single particle analysis, cryo-electron tomography or both approaches, and the courses have been held fully in-person, fully online or hybrid with online lectures and in-person practicals. We run the courses in small groups to ensure each participant gets hands-on time with each instrument and technique they are shown.

Thanks to our MRC and Wellcome funding, the courses are free to attend and travel bursaries are available.
