On February 9 and 10, 2026, the Centre for Transformative Change in Schools (CenTCS) hosted an international training given by the Quality Teaching Academy of the University of Newcastle, Australia’s Teaching and Teachers Research Centre (TTRC), an international affiliate centre of CenTCS. The training focused on developing participants’ understanding of the Quality Teaching Model and Quality Teaching Rounds, a research-backed approach to teachers’ professional learning that CenTCS will pilot in Scotland with funding support from the Glasgow Global Partnership Fund at the University of Glasgow. The training was attended by teachers from Glasgow City Council (GCC), teacher associates from the Centre for Teaching Excellence, international research collaborators from Mälardalen University, the University of Potsdam, and Radboud University, and CenTCS Fellows and Associates. In addition to contributing to quality teaching in Scottish schools, the pilot will result in original research by bringing together CenTCS researchers, GCC teachers, and local community members in a professional learning community to focus on quality teaching.
