The Pipeline of Play
Published: 5 March 2026
25th March 4-5pm (online)
Presented by Deirdre Grogan
The Strathclyde Hub (Innovative Pedagogy) is delighted to invite you to attend a webinar with Deirdre Grogan. Deirdre’s ‘Pipeline of Play’ presentation outlines the key elements of a play-based environment, through the lens of child-centred practice. The flowchart spans a series of 12 chapters – from system to source, from scale to significance – providing a scaffold for exploring play pedagogy that’s relevant from Early to Second Level, and even beyond.
Underpinned by robust theoretical and conceptual frameworks, the ‘Pipeline of Play’ combines established research with our own innovative models to investigate intentional observation, meaningful evaluation, authentic assessment and purposeful planning. Through a dynamic multi-media approach, the presentation bridges the gap between educational theory and everyday practice using case-studies of proven high-quality to inspire and motivate participants.
There will be the opportunity for professional dialogue, discussions and questions (as well as an interactive takeaway), so that practitioners leave with a clear understanding of, and a true passion for embarking upon, the next steps of their own play journey.
We look forward to having you attend the event!
